Well, that last poster could use English as a Second Language classes…even spelling classes would help.

But I do agree that we need to fight poverty here in our country before we try to solve the world’s ills. We might have no control over going global, but when Americans are struggling, it’s hard to get them motivated to help people worse off than themselves. Sure, even our poor are better off than people are in other countries, but when an American can’t fend for themselves, then our system is broken. Let’s fix America first…and we can start by deporting illegal aliens and prosecuting those who hire them.

I noted the story about the ONE bus tour states that it plans to stop at the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis. Well, I’m sorry your supporters on the bus will miss the Convention as it is in St. Paul…as any Minnesotan will tell you, there’s a big difference between Minneapolis and St. Paul. The RNC clearly chose the better of the two cities…

I’m not sure of the cost to cover the “free” ticket entry for “one” members ONLY-which seems to defeat the purpose and symbolic gesture of “ONE”. However, I would have rather the $$ for the cost of the free tickets go to purchase insurance for Steve and others who are in need.

I might be getting cynical, but seems like we’re missing the purpose of the ONE cause…..hope I’m wrong, but it sure appears right.

The event was wonderful and positive and for someone who has worked on poverty issues for almost 30 years, I can tell you that getting together with like minded people and singing and dancing and sharing the vibe is reenergizing. Getting together, getting to know each other, seeing actual faces and smiles of people who are real and care about what you care about–reaffirming in a loud happy way what is important is NOT MISSING THE PURPOSE.
