The plight of the global community should not be any more important than the American poor indigenous people! Some of our fellow Americans live in conditions similar to Africa (dry, desolate homelands), yet the media prefers to ignore their situation entirely. Maybe what is needed is for former President Clinton (or someone similar) to go to some of the American Indian reservations to see first hand what living conditions are. Maybe that person can explain to the citizens of those reservations why foreign citizens get our taxpayer money that should be spent here. When do we start worrying about the health of our own undernourished, under-medicated people?
