Women &#38; their children have always bore the brunt of poverty - whether in this country or around the world. The term "feminization of poverty" has proven to be a very unfortunate reality for me in this country ....and for millions of women around the world who struggle daily in extreme poverty.

That is just another reason WHY I have always been an active ONE volunteer - because I know that the hardships that I go through on a daily basis here in the USA are amplified in the lives of women around the world....and I feel a kinship &#38; a solidarity with them that far surpasses ideologies &#38; politics.

We are Sisters under the skin.
