This is truly excellent work by Senator Frist and the MCC.

It's hard to imagine the kind of poverty that exists in these areas (and I've seen a bit of poverty first-hand in rural South America, children without shoes, living in homes with no doors or windows).

Very excited to see the development that results from the MCC's implementation in September.

Senator Frist is an amazing person, and One.Org is an amazing organization. It is rare to see the kind of work that both Senator Frist and One are doing. I have followed Senator Frist's work both in the Senate and in Africa, and I know that he would much rather talk about what is being done to help the people of third world countries. I have the utmost respect for Senator Frist and for One. Thank you both for everything you do to make the world a better place.

I met Sen. Frist back in 2004 when he gave a speech at a small NH college. One of the first things he spoke about was the new PEPFAR program that the Congress had just launched. He told the crowd that he would make sure that over the next few years, PEPFAR would recieve all of the 15 billion dollars that was authorized for it. I always think of that when I hear how in the first five years of PEPFAR, over 18 billion dollars was appropriated for the live saving US program.

On his last public trip to NH back in 2006, he told a crowd in NH about his travels and work in Africa - explaining how people flocked to see him not because he was Senate Majority Leader, but because he was an American doctor, and how the people he saw and treated in Africa loved Americans and loved what America was doing to help them.

Very proud to see his postings on the ONE blog!
