		<description>I may disagree with Pres. Bush on other areas of social issues but I do want to thank him &amp; his administration for their leadership on the fight against AIDS in Africa.

Those who have been in this movement since its beginning remember the tremendous amount of work that organizations like DATA put into working with the Bush Administration which ultimately led to PEPFAR, the MCC and other programs to help stem the spread of HIV/AIDS and extreme poverty in Africa.


My only hope is that prominent Republicans, like Pres. Bush, Sen. Frist and Sen. Santorum will be able to exert some &quot;friendly persuasion&quot; over their cohorts who are currently responsible for holding up the re-authorization of PEPFAR in the Senate and push it successfully through the Senate asap after the Holiday Recess.
