Just wanted you to know that I delivered more than 2000 letters from Texas ONE members to Andy Rittler, North Texas Regional Director for Senator Cornyn. I asked Andy if he knew the senator’s interest in the bill, and he didn’t, but he said he would find out and get back with me. We briefly talked about AIDS for a while and what the medicines PEPFAR provides would do for the people in Africa.

Kyle, I hope that you’ll be willing to share your experiences with Sen. Cornyn’s staff in Dallas with the rest of us ONE members around the state of Texas – especially those of us in Houston & Austin who also voluntee(red) to deliver those letters regarding PEPFAR.
It’s important for those of us who are ACTIVE for ONE in a large state like Texas to stay in communication with each other because what one person might hear in a district office in Dallas might not be the exact same as what another person might hear in a district office in Austin or Houston.
If we are smart AS ONE, we will increase our level of communication with each other and become more inclusive – not refrain from sharing info & becoming exclusive of others.
If we are really in this movement to win the goal of the end to AIDS & extreme poverty in the world, especially for our brothers & sisters in Africa then we will be willing to put aside old divisions & old animosities and refuse to believe rumors & gossip about each other and COMMIT OURSELVES TO SUPPORT EACH OTHER AS ONE FOR AFRICA’S FUTURE.
Afterall, isn’t that the reason WHY we should all be in ONE anyway?
Those of us in Texas who support the re-authorization of PEPFAR need to know what Mr. Rittler tells you, Kyle, when he gets back to you. Sen. Cornyn is also our Senator too. And we should not forget about contacting Sen. Hutchison who gave her verbal approval of Bono’s efforts for Africa when he spoke in Dallas in May 2006 but who has not always voted in accordance with her verbal approval.
If you would like to contact me, Kyle, to discuss my comments here, my email is ultravioletlove_14@yahoo.com. I welcome your ideas.
Let’s remember we should be in this organization to carry each other. ~
