First Bono Clip of the Night

April 9th, 2008 at 8:18 pm | posted by Virginia Simmons

The first clip from Bono’s recent trip to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, just aired.

In the clip, Bono visits Eusebia, a former nurse and grandmother, and Sophia, a 14-year-old who was born with HIV/AIDS and has no parents.

Eusebia now volunteers full-time providing home-based care to adults and orphans living with HIV/AIDS. Eusebia lost three of her own children to AIDS and now looks after 7 family members, in addition to her work in the community. The clinic with which Eusebia works, PASADA, is funded in part by America, via contributions to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria and PEPFAR.

Below, a photo from the trip.

I’m continually amazed at Bono and his commitment to call to arms those of us with more to help those with less.

I’m so excited about ONE and what we can do together!

I saw this clip and thought its no different then the rest. Not being…I dont know but its good people all over. Then to see that this woman lost 3 of her own children brought me literally. To lose one child is enough but 3 of them and then to keep going is just beyond belief. She has nothing , has lost much and continues to give of herself. That is an angel

It’s wonderful to see someone like Bono dedicate so much the cause of Africa. I think there’s a lot of celebrities who care for Africa when it’s convenient or to get a headline, but Bono is consistent and his passion shows true. My admiration and financial support are behind him all the way.

    Thanks Mate!

American Idol gives back tonight is what inspired me to join ONE. I am hoping to help make a difference. I want to meet as many people from one as I can, and team up with as many as possible. Thank You to everyone in this organization. You all are amazing.

I just read Bono’s ‘On the Move’ book and then seeing him on the Idol Gives Back show tonight,
I have to say, his continuous & tireless efforts to make a difference are incredibly inspiring.
I had decided to join ONE after reading the book and seeing the show tonight made me sign up right then. Keep up the great work!
