I just want to take a moment to point out that struggles like today’s hopeful passage of the Biden-Lugar Amendment are rarely won without the hard work of many individuals and NGOs.
Two coalitions in particular, Interaction and the US Global Leadership Campaign, are playing critical roles in organizing and leveraging numerous other organizations in support of the Biden-Lugar Amendment.
Thanks, good luck, and keep up the hard work!
Feel free to give them some love in the comments, we’ll send the messages on.

Thanks for this update on some of the friends of our movement to end extreme poverty and their vital roles in creating the kind of consensus that is necessary to get things done – especially for programs that fight AIDS and extreme poverty.
I am on the emailing list for the USGLC and I must agree that their insightful leadership amongst their members in mobilizing support for the increases in the FY2009 budget to fight AIDS and extreme poverty has been truly amazing – and much appreciated.
And although I am not that familiar with Interaction, I make the commitment to learn more about what they are doing to advance our movement to end extreme poverty.
I will keep checking back tonight to see what updates that y’all have for us on the Biden-Lugar Amendment.
Take good care, my friends. Blessings – not just for those who kneel.

One of the greatest things about the One Campaign is the way it’s connecting groups of people working towards the same cause. I’ve met fantastic people from Bread.Org, World Vision, Hieffer and other organizations I wouldn’t have otherwise known. It’s also been inspiring to meet people who’ve dedicated their lives to alleviating the suffering of others decades before Bill Gates and Bono got involved. I definately have new heros.
