Historic Increase Passes the Senate

The Senate passed the fiscal year 2008 omnibus spending bill today, which includes a historic $2.4 billion increase for global poverty programs.

Because the Senate version is different than the House version (which they passed yesterday), the House will have to vote on the bill again.
