People We’ve Met At the Gates Malaria Forum
October 17th, 2007 at 2:00 pm | posted by Kimberly Cadena, ONE's Press SecretaryONE is here at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Malaria Forum to speak with the many experts who have gathered. Among the people we’ve been lucky enough to talk to are:
Suprotik Basu, who is the Public Health Specialist for the World Bank’s Malaria Control Booster Program. Mr. Basu spoke via video to ONE’s members, telling us that there is a lot to be excited about the world’s efforts to combat malaria.
ONE also spoke with Dr. Christian Loucq, who is the Director of the PATH Malaria Vaccine Initiative. Dr. Loucq made a very exciting announcement the day the Malaria Forum began: PATH is developing a malaria vaccine that is performing extremely well in early testing.
Oliver Sabot, Director of the Clinton Foundation Malaria Control Team, took some time to share some of the exciting work they are doing on the ground in Zambia and elsewhere. Here Oliver is showing us some of the literature they distribute with medicine to treat Malaria. This guide is easy to understand, as its printed in the native language and also includes pictoral instructions for those unable to read.
We are speaking with more experts later and we’ll be sure to fill you in on their inspiring work too!

For a long time I have tried to find a special way to propose marriage to my girlfriend Mary, whom I know for five years now. I wanted it very special, romantic and memorable, something our grandchildren would still remember.
And here is my idea: I will send out the proposal to Mary to 50 complete strangers, people I don’t know - hoping, that they will forward my proposal to as many people as possible, which in turn forward it etc. And some day, I hope, it will reach Mary, after it has travelled a very long way. I know, it will take a long time and I am quite nervous…
From the poem MY Mary will know immediately that the proposal is for her.
I have created a homepage ( http://www.proposal-to-mary.com ) where you can find the current status of my quest. You can use the homepage to check if the proposal has already reached Mary (in that case it is not necessary anymore to forward the mail).
Once the proposal has reached Mary, I will put a note on these pages. Also I will publish there how many people have read the proposal so that everybody can see how far it has spread and that it is getting closer to Mary.
And of course you will find there what I am waiting for most: Mary’s answer! I can’t tell you, how nervous I am… Will she accept my proposal? Will she like the unusual way how she got it, through the hands of thousands of messengers all over the world?
Please cross your fingers for me! And please - help me by sending the mail to as many people as possible, to help it spread, so that it eventually reaches Mary.

У меня такой вопрос,кто что интересное подскажет буду признателен.
Мы с друзьями собираемся поехать в круиз по просторам России и ближнего зарубежья месяца на два на своих машинах,но не как не можем согласовать маршрут,если у кого уже был опыт такого путешествия,может,что посоветуете.Девчонок с собой не берем,думаем,что во все городах России с этим не будет проблем,если у кого будут рекомендации и в вопросе отдыха с девушками тоже буду признателен.
