Malaria and the Seven Dwarfs
Thanks to a tip from Malaria No More’s Scott Case and Martin Edlund during a brown bag on Friday, the ONE staff has been enjoying this 1943 video made by Disney aptly called “The Winged Scourge”. The film was the first in a series of shorts that Disney produced with the then Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs.
The video features the Seven Dwarves and was intended to educate Latin Americans about the Anopheles mosquito’s role in transmitting malaria. Note: the ONE Campaign endorses neither the use of “Paris Green” nor oil cans on unsuspecting pondlife.
