Thanks, Porter, for posting the info for this very important article here in the ONE Blog. I think every person who supports our movement to end extreme poverty should read this article very carefully.

We must be aware of the tactics that those who disagree with us are using to get their viewpoint out to the public and then WE MUST BE READY TO RESPOND TO THEIR CRITICISMS OF OUR MOVEMENT with as much force and as much passion as they use to get their ideas across.

We must realize in our movement that not all the people of our country understand the broader issues of assistance to Africa and many of them do not know about our targeted assistance programs which have democracy, accountability and transparency built within the programs in order to receive development assistance.

We need to make sure that we are spending as much time reaching out to the American People to continue to "grow" our movement for Africa as we are whitebanding politicians. Whitebanding politicians will ultimately not garner us the results we want if we do not bring many more Americans on board with ONE.

THANK YOU, PROF. JEFFREY SACHS, for standing up for our movement to make extreme poverty history. You are well-respected and appreciated by all of us.

Take very good care of each other, my friends at ONE. Blessings always.

ALWAYS FOREVER, ONE - debbie :)
