This morning, Sen. Brownback made another trip to New Hampshire to campaign for president. At a breakfast in Merrimack, Sen. Brownback remarked on the importance of fighting disease and poverty in Africa and even mentioned the ONE Campaign by name.
While answering questions after his speech, Sen. Brownback spoke about the Millennium Challenge Corporation and how it is working to help responsible governments around the world.
ONE member Melissa Skinner was able to talk with Sen. Brownback about her recent trip to Namibia with her church and talk with him about the importance of saving lives in Africa. Sen. Brownback spoke about the moral importance of our actions, but also spoke about how wise our actions are with the threat of terrorism in some places in Africa and how the Chinese are investing heavily in Africa too. I spoke with the senator and thanked him for his action in the Senate on behalf of the poorest people. He told me how much he supports the ONE Campaign and thanked us on his way out.
It is getting busy here in New Hampshire and Sen. Brownback will likely be back to campaign, and when he does, he will see and hear from ONE members across the Granite State that believe we can save lives around the world.
