San Francisco Bay Area ONE volunteers Trisha Hensley and Stefanie Gabbard joined me for a visit to Congresswoman Ellen Tauscher’s office yesterday.

During the meeting with Field Representative Remy Goldsmith we shared information about The Education For All Act and The Growth Act. We asked Ms. Goldsmith to carry the information to Congresswoman Tauscher so that she would consider co-sponsoring these important pieces of legislation that offer concrete solutions to fighting extreme poverty. Of course we also let Ms. Goldsmith know about our local outreach efforts and that more than 3,500 constituents in Congresswoman Tauscher’s district are ONE Campaign members.

Ms. Goldsmith reviewed Congresswoman Tauscher’s interests and congressional record with us. I could see that she places a lot of importance on achieving stability and security in society. As education and empowering women is the cornerstone to reaching those goals, I left the meeting on a positive note, hoping that Congresswoman Tauscher will support the two bills.
