so much to say, and i trimmed back harshly, but it is a forum to make our point(s). thanx for posting this here . . . . . i hope more take advantage of speaking on behalf of the voiceless there, supporting this amazing and awesome resolution. we in Washington State proudly can claim Congressman Adam Smith as our own and believe me he’s gold, a good good man, and he has met and supported with many of us here and is serious about the issues important to us here. and he deserves for this resolution to have every chance on the floor of congress it can. he’s done his part, now we request our representatives to get behind it, pass it thru the house, get a senate version, and make this law.

The Millenium Development Goals are going to need a strategy and demanded benchmarks in order to make our promises. it’s the least we can do.

Thank you so much for posting this link!! I don’t need to convince anyone here of how immensely important this bill is. We need to keep incredible pressure on Washington until we get on track with the MDGs. We will not be forgotten if we don’t.

I wrote my Congressperson, Rick Larsen, and asked him to support the bill.

to find his voting record on any bill, see http://www.thomas.gov, put bill number in, and under Bill Status and Summary, check list of cosigners. this one has a large list, but it’s alphabetical.

he’s signed on to all our requests so far except for one of them. but thank you notes are are always a good idea too!

The voting is going strongly in favor now, thanks to your help, and the comments are overwhelming.

Staff and Members do read the comments on thomas. This is what building a constituency is all about. This critical legislation is at the very beginning of the process, and there’ll be a lot more to do as we move ahead.

Thanks Josh for posting this. Right now I’m without a home PC and that has stymied some of my efforts online but I wanted to let you know that I will compose my thoughts on this bill currently before Congress and post them tomorrow on the link that you provided.

PLEASE keep us in the loop for upcoming opportunities to post our thoughts to Congress on such important legislation as the Global Poverty Act of 2007.

For those of us who work all day and can’t check out the websites constantly, ONE’s willingness to inform us of opportunities like this is REALLY HELPFUL.~
