World Bank: Less Than A Billion Now Live On Less Than a $1 A Day

According to new reports from the World Bank, approximately 985 million people around the world now live on less than $1 day, down from an estimated 1.25 billion on 1990.

Extreme poverty is often defined as living on less than $1 a day and the “over a billion” figure has found a home on many ONE Campaign materials.
