Weekend in Vegas

On Friday night, my wife Elizabeth and I, attended a
town hall meeting in Pahrump (about 45 minutes outside
Vegas) held by presidential candidate and Connecticut
Senator Chris Dodd. Senator Dodd commented that
everywhere he travels, members of ONE are always there
to meet him and relate their concern about global
poverty. He was very receptive to our message and
noted that much more can be done to alleviate poverty.

On Sunday morning, I joined Vegas ONE members, Adam, Noel, and Jaclyn at the annual AFAN AIDS Walk in
downtown Las Vegas. At our booth, we were able to hand
out dozens of T-shirts, wristbands, and recruit 105
new members to sign the declaration. Many current
members stopped by to express their support and
excitement to know that there will be many future
opportunities to raise awareness in Las Vegas about
the ONE Campaign and global poverty.

The highlight of the weekend came from a group Living
World Christian Church members who organized their own
ONE walk team and even made their own ONE.org walk
team T-shirts. Over 25 team members showed up to
participate, help raise awareness, and support ONE
member and organizer of the team, Wen Lee.
