Tonight, at 6:30 pm, ABC correspondent Bill Weir reports from the ground in Zambia on programs working to reduce child mortality in the world’s poorest countries.
Zambia is one of 25 sub-Saharan countries where ONE partner UNICEF has implemented “Accelerated Child Survival and Development (ACSD), a program that works with national governments to deliver low-cost, high-impact interventions aimed at improving child survival rates over a short period of time.
According to UNICEF, ACSD will “save an estimated 800,000 children per year totaling 3.2 million children by 2009, as well as create and improve facilities to meet the future needs of countless others.”
