The Doors are Open
We arrived about an hour ago to Rice University and set up for today’s ONE Citizen Advocacy Training.
A couple of volunteers and other folks were here early, excited to start the day.
Anne, a 3rd year here at Rice University, helped us get the rooms for the training and was here bright and early today to make sure everything was unlocked and the internet connection was working.
To her left (right in the picture) is Pam, a professor of anthropology at San Jacinto College. She has did her field work in Africa and is now a hard-core ONE volunteer.
Nick is a Lawyer in Beaumont, Texas and drove over an hour and a half to get here.
Jordan is 5th grade reading teacher here in Houston. She was the first one in the door!
Sylviane Koueke is a student at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK and is here in Houston on her spring break. She started a ONE group (ONE – Advocates for the Poor)
People are still in line to check in and we should be starting the training in just a few moments!
