Olympic Gold medalist donates winnings to Darfur

Olympic gold winner announced that he would donate his $25,000 bonus for winning
the gold to the children of Sudan’s conflict ridden Darfur region. The Greensboro North
Carolina
native said, “I wanted to make it meaningful.
It’s empowering to think of someone else.” Cheek has also challenged his
sponsors to match his donation. He plans on visiting the Darfur region where over 2 million people have been forced
to flee from the conflict.

ONE at Daytona

The ONE Campaign will be joining with the Dale Earnhardt Foundation at
this year’s Daytona 500 in Daytona Beach, Florida. From February
16-19th, ONE will be talking with the over 250,000 NASCAR fans at this
year’s race, inviting them to join ONE and handing out ONE white bands
to the crowd. The ONE video will be playing on the racetrack boards
each day – after which we ask fans to sign up via text messaging – sign
up now by texting your first and last name to 86483.

The Dale Earnhardt Foundation even made a ONE car – check it out!

National Prayer Breakfast

Politicians from all faiths joined together at today’s National
Prayer Breakfast with the President in Washington, DC – Bono joined
them and spoke about the ONE Campaign and extreme poverty. The
President praised Bono’s efforts and called him “an amazing guy who’s
used his position to get things done.”
